The organisation was rolling out Microsoft Azure Information Protection to 12,000 employees globally. The focus was on ensuring successful adoption across the whole business and receiving the new technology as a success for the information security team.

The Challenge

The Lancia Consult programme manager was crucial in developing a methodology to safely and securely roll out the technology.

Key questions the project needed to ask itself:

  • How will we work with new restrictions in place to protect our data?
  • How do we share data safely?
  • What do you do when you do something wrong?
  • How do we operate as efficiently but more securely?
  • How does this impact where we store data and how and where we share it?

The Solution

Our client had a technical team in place to manage the technology implementation. Our role was supporting the change and programme management to ensure that the business used this as an opportunity to enhance the security culture and enable them to accurately and effectively use the new functionality. The programme manager was instrumental in establishing the correct structure of the programme and piloting and rolling it out in the most successful way.

Once developed, we worked with the business to create a roadmap to direct and guide how and when to roll out and what considerations were required at each stage.

The Impact

The rollout was carefully staged to create the right level of momentum, enabling the business to manage the change effectively and adopt new ways of working. This project significantly transformed perceptions of security and protection throughout the organisation.

Our program manager ensured that 12,000 users worldwide received targeted, specific communications about their new ways of working, including translations into various languages. The deployment facilitated a smooth transition and laid the groundwork for future updates.

The change was successfully adopted by 100% of users, as it was mandatory.
