Boosting productivity with Microsoft Copilot: Successful AI integration with a global FMCG business
This case study discusses how we facilitated the adoption and integration of Microsoft Copilot within a global FMCG. Copilot is Microsoft's large language model that acts as an AI assistant, helping users catch up on meetings and emails, create content, and answer information-related questions across Microsoft platforms.

"93% of onboarded employees felt confident using Copilot only 4 weeks after gaining the tool."
The Challenge
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly evolving, and organisations that want to remain competitive are starting to look to understand applications for this functionality. Copilot is Microsoft's new AI assistant and will be monumental in improving efficiency and productivity in the workplace in a secure and compliant way. Our client needed to understand the potential of Copilot for the organisation and prepare a successful pilot scheme to build a longer-term business case. The client sought our support on this mission by asking us to find and train new users and help articulate the value of Copilot to senior leadership.
The Solution
Our team focused on maintaining engagement, ensuring Copilot users were at the centre of the pilot. It was crucial to drive awareness and understanding of the tool whilst also the desire to engage with the transformation of their daily work life. We monitored engagement and effective use of Copilot through pulse surveys, consistent training, and continuous interaction. One of our main targets was driving collaboration and leadership within the Copilot-users community, which helped rapidly evolve learning and recruitment and capture relevant use cases. Our approach moulded to the company's specific needs and requirements to improve the tool's value.
Some of the main achievements:
- Successful adoption of Copilot across 300 users.
- Boosted productivity and efficiency throughout daily work by optimising the use of Copilot across most Microsoft applications. Supported users with multiple business scenarios, from assisting HR teams with hiring and onboarding new users on marketing teams to creating agency briefs.
- Embedded new ways of working together. Empowering people to use technology more effectively.
The Impact
We have delivered training and successfully onboarded 300+ employees with Copilot, and we will continue expanding this outreach. Our 2-month training pilot will now be replicated for onboarding across the rest of the company.
- 93% of onboarded employees felt confident using Copilot only 4 weeks after gaining the tool.
- 82% of users are saving over 16 minutes daily with Copilot.
- 87% of users agreed that Copilot helps them improve the quality of their work.
- 87% agreed that Copilot helps them be more productive.
- 93% of users found our training and support informative and practical, helping to enrich their knowledge and support their learning.
- Copilot has brought value to teams by making them more agile through better collaboration, decision-making, and individual productivity enhancement.
The business scenarios positively impacted by Copilot are extensive – some of the few examples here are:
- Creating & structuring training workshops: helping create interactive activities, discussion points, agendas, and materials.
- Enhancing communication and translation: Helpful for multilingual teams when adjusting tone and phrasing to suit different cultural contexts.
- Generating formal documents and presentations (e.g., a hiring manager drafting an NDA for interviewing candidates).
- Over 90% of users actively engage with Copilot.
These promising results demonstrate the positive impact of Copilot daily and the success it can bring with effective use post-training.
Following the pilot's success, we now look to roll Copilot out across 1000 users globally. Our focus now turns to building awareness and outreach to more isolated markets, driving more of a business focus and making Copilot work for users in their role.
