Welcoming Grace Murphy to LanciaConsult

Q&A with our most recent joiner in team Belfast, Grace Murphy

Q: What were you doing before you joined LanciaConsult?

A: Before joining Lancia, I was at PwC, working as a Technology Consultant for nearly five years. I even had the privilege of working in the Sydney office for two of those years! My focus was on Finance Transformation projects, and it was a great learning experience.

Q: What made you want to work in consulting?

A: My journey into consulting was entirely unexpected. When I first graduated from University, I was an Accounts Payable Officer at an engineering firm, and we were transitioning to a new ERP system. During this time, I had the chance to interact with some consultants, and their work sparked an interest for me.

Q: How did you get into consulting? Or what made you aware of what a career in consulting could be like?

A: I was part of the 2019 Technology Consulting graduate intake at PwC, receiving comprehensive training. My understanding of being a consultant evolved during my time in the graduate program. What excited me were the diverse roles, skill development opportunities, and the chance to gain varied experiences.

Q: What do you enjoy most about what you do?

A: Building relationships with colleagues and clients while working toward a shared goal is incredibly rewarding. Plus, the ever-evolving nature of consulting means I'm constantly developing new skills!

Q: Do you work in any particular areas of consulting or have any favourite type of project work?

A: My background leans toward finance transformation; however, I do enjoy experiencing various roles within projects. Variety is what keeps things interesting. I genuinely enjoy taking on different challenges and learning from each project.

Q: What initially attracted you to LanciaConsult?

A: I wasn't initially aware consulting practices like Lancia existed in Belfast. When I spoke to the head of talent at Lancia, her energy and enthusiasm for Lancia caught my attention. Then, when I researched their website, I noticed the social impact consulting work completed at Lancia, which I am particularly interested in and can already get involved in!

Q: How have your first few weeks gone? What have you learned about us in that time?

A: My time at Lancia is off to a fantastic start! The energy within the company is infectious, and it's clear that everyone here reflects the unique culture. I've been warmly welcomed and have had incredible opportunities to make an impact already on internal initiatives and project work. Choosing LanciaConsult was a great decision.

Q: What are you most excited about for the future at LanciaConsult?

A: Lancia is growing, opening up many opportunities and possibilities! There's a lot to look forward to, and I'm excited to see how we progress and make an impact. We have also recently moved into our stunning new office in Belfast, a testament to LanciaConsult's growth and success.
