Catching up with Kieran.

Get to know Kieran Rieley, our newest managing consultant on our European team.

Q: What have you made of your first few months at Lancia Consult?
A: I've loved my time so far. The team are all brilliant, and I can really tell how much they care for each other, the work they do, and for their clients.

Q: Can you share a few memorable moments with us?
A: I joined the same week as the new grad intake, which meant the office had a brilliant buzz as everyone made an effort to be in our office and meet the new joiners.  From a client point of view, I've jumped straight in to pick up a complicated and delayed project. Still, after a few weeks, I was able to hold a (re-) kick-off with the team, which generated a good focus and breathed some life back into the project.

Q: What are you hoping to bring to the team and our clients most?
A: I'm looking to bring a reliable, entrepreneurial and engaging approach to delivering complex programmes and the leadership of teams.
I'm a big believer in getting stuff done but having a laugh along the way. I believe you can deliver excellent work and tonnes of value by keeping your ego out of the way and genuinely caring for those around you.

Q: What was your path into consulting?
A: Probably one of the less common paths: I've spent 14 years in industry roles, originating in engineering but progressing to project management and leading teams of programme and delivery experts. However, I'd always been within the physical product and manufacturing businesses, so I was keen to broaden my experience and exposure. I felt like I'd gained enough experience to transfer my delivery and leadership experience into consulting, which happily coincided with an opportunity opening up at Lancia.

Q: What advice would you share with someone considering a career in consulting?
A: Consulting is a brilliant way to get a lot of experience and exposure to a broad range of companies, industries, and roles in a relatively short period of time. The flip side is that there can also be more uncertainties and challenges compared to a role in industry due to the nature of moving between clients and their different contexts and the need to deliver value to those clients as soon as possible.

Q: Can you tell us more about the Lancia Consult vibe in just 3 words?
A: Energetic, collaborative, and caring.
